Our Story

About Us

We did not inherit a watchmaking history. We decided to begin one.

CONSTANTIME is a small independent watch atelier based in Târgu Mureș, in the heart of Transylvania.

Our watches are shaped by the place in which they are created: the rhythm of fortified arches, the strength of stone and metal, and the changing light and colours of the landscape. We do not reproduce the past as decoration. We translate its atmosphere into contemporary proportions, textures and carefully considered details.

Swiss mechanical movements form the foundation of our watches. The dials, hands and visual identity of each model are developed in our atelier, where the components made in-house are individually worked and finished.

Every watch is assembled and inspected in small numbers, with the support of carefully selected specialist partners for the components we do not yet produce ourselves.

THE WATCHMAKER

CONSTANTIME was founded by Constantin A. Mureșan, whose path towards watchmaking was shaped by two seemingly different worlds.

Years spent working as a chocolatier trained his patience, precision and respect for processes in which the smallest details can make the greatest difference. A lifelong fascination with mechanics and precision shaped his practical understanding of how things are made, refined and brought to life. Over the years, this curiosity evolved naturally into watchmaking — a field where craftsmanship, engineering and attention to detail come together.

Together, these experiences became the foundation of Constantime. What began as an admiration for mechanical movements gradually grew into the desire to create complete watches with a distinctive identity—designed, finished and assembled in Transylvania.

Constantin remains personally involved in every model, from the first sketches and prototypes to the finishing, assembly and final inspection of each watch.

OUR VISION

CONSTANTIME is being built one skill, one component and one watch at a time.

Our direction is clear: to create distinctive mechanical watches while gradually developing more of each timepiece in Transylvania. Future steps include proprietary cases, locally developed straps, more advanced movement finishing and original mechanical modifications.

Each new model represents another step towards greater creative and technical independence, supported by the knowledge, tools and experience gained along the way.

In the long term, we aspire to develop a mechanical movement of our own—not as a promise made too early, but as the natural result of skills and independence earned over time.

We are not borrowing a history.
